🚀 How AI Helped Me Build an Automated Stock Market Blog
During the pandemic, I stumbled upon Bullish.email—a simple yet effective automated stock market newsletter built by Eduardo. I loved how effortlessly it delivered market insights every morning. I thought, “I could build something like this too!”—but, like many side projects, the idea faded into the background.
Fast forward to today, and the rise of AI and LLMs has changed everything. Suddenly, writing and explaining complex topics has become easier than ever. I had always wanted to start a blog, but a few key things held me back:
- 📝 Telling a compelling story—English is my third language, and writing fluently was a challenge.
- 🔄 Consistency—Keeping up with frequent blog updates was overwhelming.
- 💬 Engaging with readers—Managing subscribers and discussions felt like a full-time job.
But then I thought—what if I could automate everything?
🔧 Building an AI-Powered Finance Blog
I decided to revisit the idea, but in my own way. Inspired by Bullish.email, I built a fully automated blog that fetches market data, analyzes sentiment, and publishes insights—all without a single word written by a human.
Using free AI APIs (Mistral, Gemini) and data sources like Yahoo Finance and Finviz, my Python app scrapes the latest stock market trends, processes the information using AI, and formats it into a daily blog post. The entire process runs on a Raspberry Pi via a cron job, and the blog is automatically published to The Stallion Vibe—my finance blog hosted on Hostinger.
This project is open-source, just like Bullish.email, and I plan to share the backend code soon. Right now, it’s in its simplest form, but I have bigger ideas for curating and automating newsletters in different domains.
💡 What’s Next?
For now, I’m keeping things simple—no paid AI APIs, no manual edits, just pure automation. But if this project gains traction, I’d love to refine and expand it. AI-powered content generation has so much potential, and I want to explore ways to improve newsletter automation further.
